A Few Words

About Me

Natacha Mabille

Hello world! I am a young freelance translator that feels committed to
bringing the world closer together by offering content in multiple languages.

My story

I grew up surrounded by technology and computers. I learned the basics of HTML when I was 12 and took an interest in video games.

After finishing high school at the age of 15, I focused on my hobbies (e.g. chess) for a year. This would be the first time
I became Belgian chess champion of my category. I won the title twice more afterwards, amounting to a total of three Belgian chess champion titles.

A year later, I started veterinarian studies in university as I feel deeply connected to nature and animals, but it was not my cup of tea.

I eventually found my way into the wonderful world of translation.
After a bachelor in translation and a 5-month language exchange in Shanghai, I went on pursuing a master’s degree
in translation with an audiovisual specialization.
To better write about my master’s thesis about the impact of AI on competitive chess and other similar games,
I visited a club of go and eventually joined and started playing competitively.

After university, I decided to travel around the world while continuing playing international chess and go tournaments.
I also parallelly started learning German.

Since early 2020, I am devoted to my work,
while adding some useful skills on the side such as learning web design with WordPress.

I always thrive for more, through constant learning of new skills and theory
